After demise of the streetcars, a transit system was started by MacArthur Transportation Co. with three routes, an east end loop, a south end loop, and a west end loop, with terminal at 8th St. & Rosser Ave. The E & W was operated as a continuous route with two locally built coach bodies on new Maple Leaf trucks. A secondhand, larger, Leland coach was acquired for the S. end, which was replaced by a large GMC about 1938.

This photo was taken by C.J. Smith for Bryant Studio. Bryant Studio (I believe) was opened in 1907 by Smith for Bryant. Smith later bought the studio when Bryant planned to close it. The same studio was subsequently purchased by L.A. Stuckey on January 1, 1958. LAS.

The S.S. Marquette was a steamship used on the Assiniboine River west of Winnipeg to Fort Ellice; It was the first to cross the rapids east of Brandon
This was one of about 12 [steamships] used on the Assiniboine River in the late 1870s (Roy Brown).
