Glass is broken right through center into three pieces but is holding together by clear tape over the complete surface of the glass. The frame has come apart into three pieces along its mitre joints. Several small pieces of gild are broken off from frame
Mrs. Pennington was born in Saskatoon, attending school in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and finally Winnipeg. She lived for 17 years in Shellmouth, Manitoba before moving to Oak Lake where she now resides. Her artistic interest later turned towards small wild animals (1983 inventory)
Multiple yellow accretion marks down right edge of picture. Backing paper is almost completely torn off on the perimeter edges. Frame has multiple abrasions and chips all around frame edge. Bottom two mitre joints are separated.
Bertha Cunningham is a Western Manitoban artist who has studied at the Banff School of Fine Arts several summers and has painted in Winnipeg for periods under the guidance of members of the School of Fine Art. She paints mainly landscapes. (1969 inventory)
