History / Biographical
The Brandon Normal School was an arm of the provincial Department of Education. Manitoba Normal schools were initiated in the early 1880s (1882 for protestant teachers and 1883 for Roman Catholic ones) to meet the demand for teachers in the province's schools. Normal schools were held in Brandon at various locations until the construction of the Brandon Normal School in 1912 under the Roblin government. The Brandon Normal School operated until 1946.

Item is a large piece of matting containing individual portraits of the members of the Brandon College class of 1965 with the first initial and last name of each person identified. In the centre of the board is a photograph of the Brandon College shield of arms and the title "Class of '65."
Mr. J.E. Matthews was a Sunday School Teacher in 1924 at St. Paul's United Church in Brandon, MB. The name "The Invincibles" was only ever used in the church's 1922 Annual Report, however it is most likely that the men in the photograph are members of Matthews' Sunday School class.
