Paul Panton, a native of Melita, and now a resident of Boissevain, began art lessons with Miss Helen Douglas in New Westminster, B.C.. He continued study with Joe Plaskett at the Vancouver School of Art. During 1962 to 1964 he studied with Steve Repa at the Brandon Allied Arts Centre. Cockling of mat in BM area. Frame has multiple abrasions all along perimeter.
Severely dusty, especially the velvet mat. Velvet mat is clotted together in top and bottom middle area. Left arm of frame is slightly dented along backside edge.
Mrs. Perry, wife of Edward Perry, Professor English in Brandon College, began painting about 1940. She studied with professors Eliasson and Ivan Eyre, 1958-1960 on their trips to Brandon from Winnipeg, and continued with teachers at the Brandon Allied Arts Centre, 1960-1965; Ferrer, Strub, Repa and Halliday. 'Miniature Antiques' represents a lifetime interest in antiques on the part of professor and Mrs. Perry. (1969 inventory)
Arthur D. Amiotte is a member of Oglala Sioux Tribe. Educated in the U.S., Amiotte has worked on and edited numerous native art and myth books. As a recognized artist, Amiotte won many awards and honors from various North American arts foundations. Amiotte has been exhibited extensively in the United States and Canada.
