Photograph was taken on the front lawn and shows nine female students who were either members of the Class of 1930 or the Class of 1931. L to R: Isabel (Hitchings) Garland, Louis (Garnet) Young, Mary (Maltman) Haramia, Ruth (Bigham) Alexander, Thelma (Stoodley) Pallister, Jean (Hutchings) Chase, Van (Hitchings?) Cummings, Kay (Underwood) Pickard, and Marie (Evans) McDonnell.
Photograph is looking west and shows the new Students' Residence Complex, consisting of Darrach Hall, Flora Cowan Hall, and the Main Dining Room, funded by the Central Mortgage & Housing Corporation. The grassy area in the photograph is now occupied by the John R. Brodie Science Centre and McMaster Hall.
Photograph was donated by C. Allan Elsey in September 2003. The photograph belonged to the donor's father Charles Spurgen Elsey.
