Series 8: Brandon College Students Association
The Ministerial Committe was created with the purpose of discovering prospective students for the Baptist ministry. To become recognized as a student in Theology, a student had to be examined by the Ministerial Committee. The committee looked at the student’s intellectual, moral and spiritual fitness for the work of the ministry. He was then graded on his chances at entering the ministry. The committee could tell him that he was not suitable for ministerial work, or they could put him on the “encouraged” list. After repeated meetings with the Committee, a student could be voted as “accepted” as a prospective Baptist ministerial student.
Scope and Content
These records consist of a book from the Ministerial Committee. It contains the records of prospective theological students, including comments on their spirituality, morality and intellect. It records which students were rejected, encouraged and accepted into the program. Some notable students interviewed in this collection are: J.R.C. Evans, John Hart, Charles Stone, H. Friend, J. Church, and Tommy Douglas.
Sub-series consists of records for various committees of the Board of Governors, which were established to expedite matters in certain areas of the Board's jurisdiction. Some committees have a more or less permanent status while others were created to deal with specific questions or mandates. The sub-series has been divided into six sub sub series, including: (1) Nominating Committee; (2) Finance Committee; (3) Presidential Selection Committee; (4) Membership Committee; (5) Fundraising-Liaison Committee; and (6) Athletic Directorate.

2.5 Board of Governors' committees
Arrangement
At present (July 2007) all Board Committee files are in one box. As more records are received, the individual committees will be placed into their own boxes.
These records were created by the Director of Library Services from the year 1957 until 1963. It is mainly business correspondence and memorandums. The files include correspondence between the Director of Library Services and various people regarding the library. There are also memorandums to the faculty.

The department of Student Services was established in 1968 under the name Student Personnel Office. In 1968, it was renamed Student Affairs. The name was changed to Student Services in 1984 or 1985. In 1999, the position of Dean of Student Services was amalgamated with the University Registrar, becoming Dean of Students/University Registrar. The Dean of Students position was separated from that of University Registrar in August 2008.
Student Services is presently located in Room 115 of the A.E. McKenzie Building. Its purpose is to assist students in their intellectual, vocational, personal and social development. Various services such as counselling and learning skills are made available to students requiring assistance.

Series has been divided into two sub-series, including: (1) Director's files - correspondence/minutes; and (2) Impacte/Core.
Notes
