Stuckey's notes: Built 1907. Opened 1908. Facing brick from Wisconsin (order 65,000 bricks). I attended this school 1936-1939 Grades 10-12.
The building, which is located at 527 Louise Avenue, ceased to be Brandon Collegiate Institute (BCI) in the summer of 1974. It was renamed New Era School on the recommendation of Marion Pye, who was a teacher at BCI in its last years. The name "New Era" was also the name of the BCI yearbook.

Photograph shows the 1936-1937 men's Brandon Collegiate Basketball team posing in the studio with their coach. A trophy cup is displayed next to a basketball.
Notes
Writing on the back of the photograph reads: Brandon Collegiate Inst. Brandon, Man, 5" by 3", 5" by 3", 5" by 3".
The Brandon Co-op building is located between 6th and 7th Street on the south side of Princess Avenue. The building later housed the Brandon Public Library and Convergys.
