Photograph shows street view of intersection of the 000 block of 8th Street and Rosser Avenue. Horse and buggies are travelling on both roads. Businesses on the east side of 8th Street from Pacific to Rosser Avenues are clearly visible and include: a Lunch Room (likely Aagaard's Lunch Counter), the Hotel Imperial Annex, Liverpool House (a boarding house), R.S. Thompson and Company Real Estate Office (Land Office), a barber shop (likely J. Coulter's), Frank Gowen photography studio, and Fleming's Drug Store. A possible street fair is in progress on Rosser Avenue. One man is surrounded by a crowd adjacent to the Fleming Block, another man stands on a soap box in the middle of the intersection, while a third man is standing behind a booth. Building construction appears to be happening on the west corner of 7th Street and Rosser Avenue.

Seated on the mayor's left is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to his right Lorne Watson. The party may have been assembled for the founding of the Brandon University School of Music's Queen Elizabeth II building.

Writing on the back of the photograph reads: Ab Gowanlock 85 years old of Dauphin, two-time winner of the Brier (once in 1938 at Toronto and once in Sudbury in 1953) at the wheel of a Rumley Oil Pull tractor during the Thursday afternoon parade of steam and oil and gas tractors. Mr. Gowanlock is not a newcomer to threshing as he was involved with it on a regular basis from 1916 to 1947. dirk...shot directly into sun and was hard to print...
Archie Cleveland Miller owned and operated a farm near Roland, Manitoba from 1918 to 1938. Miller was engaged principally in a commercial grain operation.

Image of Alex Fowler standing at the counter in his store. The shelves behind him are stacked with tins of dry good, while the shelves to his side are stacked with china and glass items. The post office operated out of the back of the store.
Photograph shows eight men posing in front of a wood-framed building on the corner of 8th Street and Rosser Avenue. Above the building's entrance is a painted sign that reads: Apothecaries' Hall. A. Fleming, Druggist is painted in the window above the door. Street signs designating 8th Street and Rosser Avenue are affixed to the building. A transit/theodolite is mounted on a tripod in front of the store.

Image of the town of Baldur, MB. Visible is the L. Curtis Block. Canadian Northern rail cars are in the foreground with horse drawn carts and men working on road and town buildings behind.
Photograph shows a canvas tent boarding house and wooden shack advertising soup, meat, and bread for 25 cents and hot tea and coffee. A man wearing a vest is standing in the doorway of the shack. Another man wearing a three-piece suit and hat is seated on a seat at the corner of the structure while another man wearing an apron leans against the shack. Clothes can be seen drying on the surface of the large canvas tent.
