Paper is torn on upper half of the right edge. Lint underneath plexiglass in BL corner. Plexiglass in popping out of frame on top edge due to improper framing.
Mrs. Pennington was born in Saskatoon, attending school in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and finally Winnipeg. She lived for 17 years in Shellmouth, Manitoba before moving to Oak Lake where she now resides. Her artistic interest later turned towards small wild animals (1983 inventory)
Joe Plaskett was born in 1918 in Westminster, B.C. He studied at the Vancouver School of Art with Hans Hoffman and was Director for the Winnipeg School of Art. He also taught at Vancouver School of Art. (1969 inventory)
There are creases along the right side. A piece of the surface of the paper is peeled off along the top edge. Also, there are various smudges all over, including multiple pencil marks in the bottom horizontal register, which are most likely not inherent
Daphne Odjig was born on the Wikwemikong Reserve, Manitoulin Island and now lives on the Koostatak Reserve in Northern Manitoba. Her talent was recognized and encouraged early by her father and grandfather. While in B.C., she joined the B.C. Federation of Artists. She enjoys portraying legends and folklore of her people in ink, pastels and acrylic. (Art catalogue, 1983)
