Contract for concrete approach from north end to replace east and west timber approaches along Assiniboine Ave. awarded to A.E. Jones and E. Fulcher for $30,590. Oct. 11, 1934. (Brandon Sun). As part of this project a Z-shaped ramp on the west side to Assiniboine Ave for pedestrians replaced wooden stairs to north end.

In the summer of 1981 the S.S. Kresge store closed, and the Bass Building was purchased by the Bank of Montreal with the intention to renovate and open in 1982.

Frank Massin purchased this building, which had been a wool mill, and added brick veneer in 1910. Frank Massin & Son Ltd. dealt in raw hides, furs and wool,and was in business from 1910 to approximately 1964. (Fred Courtice - 21 year employee)
Last owner: David Weiss. Demolished approximately 1983.

The fountain for people was in the small basin at the rear. From there, wasted water went through a pipe to the large basin in front to be used for dogs and, no doubt, horses on occasion. This was one of two drinking fountains on the fair grounds - the other being by the children's paddling pool just inside the main gate on 13th St. In addition to the two fountains on the fair grounds, there was also one on Eighth St. across from the Baubier Hotel in the early days (Brandon: A City, Barker, p. 52). Located on the south side of the 800 block Rosser Ave.
Building was empty at the time and prepared for demolition for the new Gallery Mall. The fire was believed to be started by vandals, probably accidentally.
