Built in 1991-1992 for $1.4 million, the official opening of the Centre was May 29, 1992. The centre is currently (April 2010) called the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, Parkwood Centre.

Former home of J.E. Smith, early farmer, horse breeder and businessman - died 1919. Became city property. To Allied Arts Council 1950's. Arts Centre moved to former Co-op Store, 600 block of Princess Ave. 1984.

The building pictured was built in 1906-1907. Prior to its use as the Public Library, the building housed the Merchants Bank of Canada. The Library left this location in 1984 when it moved to the former Co-op store on 7th Street & Princess Avenue. Photograph shows the southeast corner of 10th Street and Rosser Avenue, Brandon, Manitoba. The Bank of Montreal is situated on the corner. Visible businesses along the east side of 10th Street include: Barclay's Shoe Store, Carlton Cafe, and Ted Heming Jewellers.
[First Baptist Church moved out of this building in the early 1990s. The building subsequently housed Solid Grounds (coffee shop), and Lady of the Lake (gift shop). C.H. 12/06/09]
