Photograph was donated by a "Mrs. Wilson" in 1989.
Scope and Content
Photograph shows a moveable crane used for railway maitenance on the Great Northern Railway bridge at Bunclody, MB. The photograph was taken from the Souris River and shows the bridge structure.
The signature wall is a name created by the Archives and given to a piece of wall formerly located in either Clark Hall or the Brandon College Building that was covered in former students signatures. The signatures were discovered at the time of renovations to the building.

Donkersloot began working at Brandon University in 1971 as the Clerk of Works. From 1973 until his retirement, he was the Director of Physical Plant.
Custodial History
Photographs were taken by Tom Donkersloot during construction and stored in albums in the Physical Plant H-Hut until they were transfered to the McKee Archives by Doug Duncalf in May 2008.

View is looking east southeast. Photograph shows the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium (WMCA) under construction. There are two signs in the foreground. One lists the names of the architectural firm, the engineers, contractiors and subcontractors involved with the project. The other reads: Site of Western Manitoba's 100 Centennial Project New Auditorium
Photograph shows members of the Brandon University Foundation during a tour of the construction site. Members include: Scott Stewart, Doug Adams, Sheri Decter-Hirst.
According to Stuckey and Bain (1996), “The Brandon, Saskatchewan & Hudson’s Bay Railway was built and operated as a totally owned subsidiary of the Great Northern Railway. Construction commenced in late 1905 and by the end of 1905, less than a mile of track had been laid north of the boundary at St. John. In 1906, the remaining 68.6 miles to Brandon were laid and service commenced that year. During the Depression of the 1930s, traffic declined significantly and the entire branch was abandoned in 1936. Over much of the branch’s length, the ties and rails were laid on the prairie without ballast and today little remains of the line apart from traces where there were cuts and bridges.” (p. 18)
