This pin was part of a donation, along with item 24, from Jean Bennest, class of 1934. It's original owner is unknown. The date the items arrived at the McKee Archives is also unknown.
Scope and Content
The pin consists of two parts, both pins in their own right. The first pin consists of three triangles and is art deco in design. The background of the triangles is red with each triangle edged in silver. The smallest triangle contains the letter "B, " the middle triangle the lettter "C," and the largest triangle the word "Arts." All the lettering is in silver. The first pin is connected to the second pin by a silver chain. The second pin consists of the number 30 and is sterling silver.

Scope and Content
Item was created by the Brandon College class of 1935 as part of their commencement activities. The flag, which is made of felt with canvas, features the class colours of black and gold, as well as the class motto "Una Voce" ("With one voice"). The letters "BC" are surrounded by a wreath of interlocking chain. The flag has rope ties for hanging.

Loose translations for the class mottos were provided by Dr. Rosanne Gasse (Latin) and Dr. Steve Robinson (Greek), as well as from googling the mottos in October 2006. Description by Trinity Nylen/Jessica Old (February 2024) and Christy Henry.
Beatrice C. Hall graduated from Brandon College c. 1923. She was a teacher of some kind and died in California when she was about 80 years of age.
Custodial History
This ring was part of a donation, along with item 23, from Jean Bennest, class of 1934. It's original owner was Beatrice C. Campbell (nee Hall), a relative of Jean Bennest, and Brandon College graduate.
Scope and Content
The ring is oval in shape and made of gold. It has the letters "BC" entwined in the centre of the oval. There is lettering around the "BC" but it is worn and difficult to make out. It may read "Recte et Suavitem."

According to Henderson's 1935 Brandon City Directory, the First United Church was located on the corner of 8th Street and Lorne Avenue. The minister at the time was Reverend John H. Garden.
Scope and Content
Photograph shows the Brandon Male Voice Choir dressed in tuxedos and posing before the First United Church's pipe organ. A minister (possibly Rev. John H. Garden) and three women in formal attire are standing in the front row.

Scope and Content
The pin is oval in shape, measuring 2 cm across at its longest point. The background of the pin is dark blue, with the University crest in the centre and the words Brandon University 60th Anniversary Reunion around the outside of the pin. The crest and the lettering are in gold.
Photograph was in possession of Mrs. Ruby Miles, who passed the image on to Fred McGuinness. McGuinness makes reference to Mrs. Miles and this photograph in his Sunbeams column (Source: F.A. Rosser, "Another interesting chat with a daughter of the plains," Brandon Sun 18 Aug 1981).
Scope and Content
Photograph allegedly shows the Wheat City Business College graduating class standing outside a woodframed building in the winter. Affixed to the building are posters/advertisements that read: Happyland, Monday July 30 [1906?]. A banner spelling Happyland in large block letters hangs above the building's door that is numbered 209. Surrounding the banner are the red ensign/Dominion of Canada flags.
The students are wearing long wintercoats with fur collars, some are wearing fur hats. The men appear to have ribbons pinned to their lapels. On the left of the photograph, a group of three female students are sitting in a horse-drawn sleigh and have fur robes on their laps. On the right, a number of students are standing on a horse-drawn sled. Two individuals can be seen holding megaphones, another student is holding a basketball.

Writing on the back of the photograph reads: 1909, Tenth Street and Princess. Two yellow labels are affixed to the back of the photograph. one reads: graduating class, Wheat City Business College. The other reads Mrs. K.L. McGregor, 157-4th St.
File consists of correspondnece, news releases, histories for various departments, individuals and services at the College/University, and a mailing list.

The beanie measures 17 cm in diameter and is approximately 11 cm tall. It is composed of alternating bands of blue and gold felt. The initials "BC" appear on the front of the beanie.

The ring is a rectangular gold class ring from 1963, with the Brandon College shield of arms on the top of the ring. The numbers "19" and "63" are engraved on the shoulders of the ring. The ring is in a gray velvet jewellery box from Zeke's Jewellers.
The spade was presented to Mrs. William Davies on the occasion of laying the cornerstone of Brandon College (Original Building), July 13th, 1900. The spade is approximately 16.5 cm long and is missing its handle. It is composed of silver, but appears to have been gold plated at one point as there are patches of gold over top of the silver base.

The outside of the plate is a flower motif. On the back of the plate, in the same blue as the front, are the words "Canadian View Series, Brandon Manitoba." There is also a trademark of a bird with a banner reading "Trademark England."

Kay Smith (nee Oliver) donated this item, along with items 5 and 6 from RG 6, sub-series 16.2 (Artifacts - apparel) to the Archives in May of 2003. She graduated from Brandon College in 1953 and again in 1955.
Scope and Content
The jacket is a blue felt lettermans jacket with yellow buttons, yellow leather side pockets and blue and yellow stripped cuffs. On the upper left side is a variation of the Brandon College shield of arms and a banner reading "Brandon College." Athletic letters for swimming and basketball, received for playing varsity, are located on either side of the buttons at the bottom of the jacket. A band reading "Arts 63" is located on the upper right sleeve.

Consists of three blue and gold Brandon College crests made from felt. Two are circular in shape, measuring 4.25" and 3.75" across. The third is oval in shape, measuring 4 x 3.5". All three are composed of the letters "B" and "C" in gold and intertwined on a blue background. The two circular crests also have a gold border.
This plate was the property of Edna and Carl Bjarnason. it was in their possession for some fifty years prior to its donation to the University on October, 2005. The Development Office took possession of the plate at that time and transferred it to the archives in March 2008.

The University Calendar is the authoritative statement of the institutional structure, faculty and staff, and academic program of Brandon University. Since the creation of the College in 1900, calendars have been produced annually, with only a few exceptions, by the Registrar's Office.
Up until 1991-1992, the calendar was called the general calendar. In 1991-1992, it was called the undergraduate general calendar. Beginning in 1992, the calendar was produced every two years instead of annually, except for 1998-1999, until 2003. The 1992-1994 calendar contains both the undergraduate and graduate general calendars, and starting in 1994 a separate undergraduate and graduate calendar was produced.
Custodial History
The Brandon College/University calendar was produced by the Registrar's Office. Individual copies of the calendar were held by the Registrar's Office until their transfer to the University Archives.
Scope and Content
The sub-series consists of general calendars, general undergraduate and graduate calendars, as well as calendars for the School of Music, the Faculty of Education, and for spring and summer sessions. It has been divided into three sub sub series, including: (1) Calendars - bound archival copies; (2) Calendars - researcher's copies; and (3) Calendars - miscellaneous.
Notes
The Registrar, acting in his/her capacity as Secretary of Senate, is responsible for the production of the University calendar.
Photograph shows a southwestern view of Clark Hall and the Brandon College Original Building. The Citizen Science Building is absent from the campus grounds.

The badge is 9 cm wide and 11 cm long. It is composed of blue felt with gold embrodery and is shield shaped. It has scalloped edges and a quill and inkwell design underneath the "Literary" banner. The back of the badge has a stamp that reads "Smith's Crests, 464 Fairford (?) W., Moose Jaw, Sask."
