CUSO is an organization in which university graduates can gain important international experience before entering careers. A number of Brandon College/Brandon University alumni participated in the program.
Scope and Content
The writing on the back of the photograph reads: "Cement being mixed on the ground without aid of a cement mixer. The school under construction shown in the back . . ." It appears that the bottom portion of the photograph has been cut off.
A gathering of the Arts Class of 1912, the theological graduates of 1912, the Ad Eundem graduates and former graduates in Brandon for the Convocation exercises met in 1911 and decided to form an Alumni Association of Brandon College open to all Arts and Theological graduates, past, present and to com, and also to those admitted Ad eundem. An executive was elected and a constitution was to be written. The aim of the Alumni Association was to "promote and sustain the spirit of loyalty to its Alma Mater, and to assist in all possible ways in exalting her ideals and forwarding her progress." It was also meant to sustain and strengthen bonds of fellowship between the members of the body graduate. To foster this sentiment an annual Alumni banquet was discussed. It is unkown how long this version of the Brandon College Alumni Association operated or what became of it.
The present day Alumni Relations office dates from the local chapter of the Brandon College Alumni Association organized in June 1936 at a meeting held in the reception room of Clark Hall.

Bob and Kay Howland at Dunrobin, in Ottawa, hosted a reunion of the Brandon University Alumni Association. Present at the function were : Jim and Marina Lalung, Mr. and Mrs. Assison Boles, Ed Neal, Connie and Del Hewitt-White, Dorine and Hugh Best, Mary and Jack Wickers, Ian and Beverley Barnes, Nevin and Mary Ann Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Roberts, Carol and Bob Milne, Dorothy and Clay Elston, Lenore Dinsdale, Bob and Elsie Farrell, Willa Davies, Jack Perkins (Association President), Bob and Kay Howland. Douglas Dennison Peters, PC , Ph.D. (born March 3, 1930) in Brandon, Manitoba is a Canadian banker, economist and politician. He is married to Audrey Catherine Clark, has two children and two grandchildren.
He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University in 1963 and a Ph. D. from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania in 1969 where he was classmates with two other well-known Canadian economists, Arthur Donner and Robert Rabinovitch.
After serving as chief economist and senior vice-president of the Toronto-Dominion Bank, Peters entered politics in the 1993 election. He was elected as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Scarborough East. Prime Minister Jean Chrétien appointed Peters to the position of Secretary of State for International Financial Institutions. Peters retired from politics at the 1997 election.
