Scope and Content
Photograph shows Marion Stone, class of 1940, standing out on the front lawn before a costume party. The clothes she's wearing the photograph were borrowed from Mrs. Sarah Persis Darrach, Dean of Women (1936-1953).
Marion Margaret Hales Doig was the only child of B.J. Hales. She died in Brandon on June 8, 1961.

This fonds was accessioned by the McKee Archives in 1997. Prior custodial history is unknown.
Scope and Content
Fonds contians issues of two periodocals, "Northern Review" (1949-51), which reviews contemporary Canadian literature, and "The Keystone Province" (1941-45), a primarily economic look at Manitoba.
Photograph shows Harold Stewart - Brandon University Foundation member, Brandon University graduate and former New Era School principal - in either the Brandon College Building or Clark Hall during renovations.
Photograph is stained and water damaged. A newspaper clipping about William (Billy) Muir is glued to the top left hand corner of the mat. The image is exfoliated in the right hand corner. The negative has been reverse printed.
History / Biographical
Coombs & Stewart opened the first general store in Brandon in 1881, which was located on 6th Street and Pacific Avenue. According to G.F. Barker (Brandon: A City, 1977, 291), William (Billy) Muir worked at the store until he opened his own grocery store in 1888.
