Item consists of: Sq. C. Winnipeg, Man. 1st hammer #4 time mark 23 February 1898. Also Sq. C. Morden, Man. 8 March 1898, Return to and two Not Called for impressions. Reverse Sq. C. Morden, Man. 25 February 1898 and Winnipeg circle #6, 1 March 1898.

History / Biographical
John Dickson (b. 17 Mar 1854, Scotland; d.15 April 1926, Brandon) was considered one of Brandon’s pioneer dentists. Dickson immigrated to Canada in 1857, where he lived in Hamilton, Ontario, for a number of years. Dickson then came to Manitoba and operated a grocery in Chater before he studied dentistry, graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1886. Dickson settled in Brandon where he married Anna Louise Harrison on 28 December 1891. (Source: “Pioneer Dentist of Brandon in Dr. John Dickson,” Brandon Daily Sun 16 Apr 1926).
The couple had four children: Mrs. Irving Cross [Mary Louise, b.20 Dec 1892, Brandon; d. 22 Oct 1981, Saratoga, NY]; Dr. John Harrison Dickson [b. 26 Aug 1894, Brandon; d. 17 June 1956, Killarney]; Dr. Stanley Rodgers Dickson [b. 18 Feb 1896, Brandon; d. 25 July 1963, Brandon]; and Mrs. Emile Baldeschweiler [Isobel Marion Coates, b. 13 Nov 1900, Brandon; d.?] of New York. Scope and Content
Photograph shows three children standing on a residential street in front of a large woodframed home surrounded by a white picket fence. Two girls are wearing winter overcoats and a boy is wearing a winter jacket. The trees are covered in hoarfrost and snow lines the streets. The children are possibly those of Brandon dentist Dr. John Dickson who resided at 342-8th Street.

Custodial History
Mona McKinnon (nee Corkish) gave photograph to Colleen McGuinness who, in turn, gave it to her father, Fred McGuinness in 2007.
Scope and Content
Photograph shows Mrs. Scott's residence in Kemnay, Manitoba. Members of the family along with two horse-drawn buggies are clearly visible along the front of the house. A possbile church appears to the right of the house in the background.

Writing on the back of the photograph reads: Margaret Brown Scott, Mother in law to, Frank McGee Sr.
Mark 7 Hobbycrafts and Religious Supplies was located in the Security Building at 21 on 10th Street. The business appears to have opened on October 31 1966 and was owned by Lorne Baldrow. The previous owner of the store was Agusuta E. Wing and had called the store the Christian Book and Music Center. The store appears to have closed around 1969 when Lorne and his wife Edna moved to Calgary.

Tenants in 1968 included: the John Howard Society, Brandon Emergency Measures Organization, Viscount Optical, Kent's Accordion College, and Loch Lomond Knitwear Lts.

Item consists of: Winnipeg, Canada, circle (Jarrett #374) 15th October 1892 - 4p (fore runner of the squared circle). Reverse: Toronto, Ont., winged circle "AM" 21 October 1892.
According to the Manitoba Historical Society, the Volunteer Monument was unveiled at Winnipeg's Old City Hall on September 28, 1886. The monument commemorated the soldiers of 90th Winnipeg Rifles (also known as the "Little Black Devils") who were killed during the 1885 North West Rebellion. In 1968, the monument was moved to the east side of Main Street, between the Centennial Concert Hall and the Manitoba Museum.
Scope and Content
Photograph shows a parade marching south along Main Street in front of the Volunteer Monument on Winnipeg's Old City Hall grounds (1886-1962). The parade was in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee that was held June 22, 1899. Businesses visible on the west (left) side of Main Street include: the Great Northern Railway Line, Gurney Stove & Range Co., Sherman House, The Arlington Hotel, Hurtley & Co., Central Drug Hall, Inman Optical Co. On the east side of Main Street, the Conferation Life Block is draped with bunting and a large ensign flag is flying from its tower. Specators line the streets and can be seen on roof tops and leaning from windows.
