Photograph shows a group of 47 men standing in a yard in front of a large brick building. Writing on the back of the photograph identifies these men as employees of the Hanbury Manufacturing Company.

The bottom right hand corner has been torn off. Both portions of the photograph are stored together.

View is northwest from approximately 17th Street and Victoria Avenue. Photograph shows: the Brandon College campus and the Kinsmen Park and baseball diamond. Taken during construction of Flora Cowan Hall but before the Gymnasium was built.
Photograph shows the northeast corner of 10th Street and Princess Avenue facing east. In the background the following Brandon businesses can be seen: back of the Brandon Inn, B/A gas station, The Princess Cafe, and the Central Fire Hall.

Photograph shows the east side of 10th Street, Brandon, Manitoba. The Strand Theatre marquee shows "Gidget" starring Sandra Dee and Cliff Robertson. Other businesses in the Strand Block include: Ted Heming Jewellers, Waddell's, and Metropolitan Life.

The Bank of Montreal rebuilt the former Bass Building directly across from it (southwest corner of 10th St. and Rosser Ave.), and moved into their new facilities in 1982.

Built in 1956 on the southeast east corner of 10th St. and Rosser Avenue (former site of the Olympia Cafe)
In the summer of 1981 the S.S. Kresge store closed, and the Bass Building was purchased by the Bank of Montreal with the intention to renovate and open in 1982.

The fountain for people was in the small basin at the rear. From there, wasted water went through a pipe to the large basin in front to be used for dogs and, no doubt, horses on occasion. This was one of two drinking fountains on the fair grounds - the other being by the children's paddling pool just inside the main gate on 13th St. In addition to the two fountains on the fair grounds, there was also one on Eighth St. across from the Baubier Hotel in the early days (Brandon: A City, Barker, p. 52). LAS.
