Scope and Content
Postcard shows the West End Park (also known as Stanley Park) and Park School. The school was situated on the southwest corner of Lorne Avenue. A couple of residences surround the school. Walking paths, a park bench, and a gazebo/grandstand can be seen in the park.

The postcard is addressed to Mr. F.A. Rosser and is postmarked Brandon 06 June 1970. A 6-cent Queen Elizabeth red postage stamp portraying various modes of the transportation.
Photograph shows a street view of 10th Street facing north. There are many automobiles parked along the street and several pedestrians in summer dress are on the sidewalks and street. Visible business signs include: Hentzman & Co. Pianos (possibly belonging to J.J.H. McLean Co. Ltd.), the Strand Theatre, T & D Clothes, Campbell & Campbell, the CPR Station, and Bowling Alley and Billiards.

Photograph shows the 700-block of Rosser Avenue facing west. Visible businesses on the north side of Rosser Avenue include: Burchill's Music Store, E.W. Woolworth Co. Ltd. 5-10 and 15 Cent Store in the E.E. Evans Block, Empire Hotel, and W.A. Paterson Drugs. Automobiles are parked on both sides of the avenue and at the time the photograph was taken, Rosser Avenue was a two-way street.

View is south southeast from the skywalk. Photograph shows the courtyard in winter full of vehicles, machines and building materials. Also visible are the Development and Physical Plant H-Huts, the Citizens' Science Building, the John R. Brodie Science Centre and McMaster Hall.
View is northwest from the roof of the Brandon College Building. Photograph was taken through wire fencing and shows construction on the roof of the Brandon College Building during winter. The original Clark Hall entrance to the roof is clearly visible. Portions of the A.E. McKenzie Building, Clark Hall and the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium are visible in the background.
Photograph was taken from the skywalk and shows students leaving the George T. Richardson Centre during winter. The courtyard contains construction materials. The Physical Plant H-Hut and McMaster Hall are partially visible in the background.
Richard Halliday was born in Vancouver, B.C. in 1939. He studied in Vancouver School of Art with Ray Kiyooka and Jack Shadbolt. Further studies in Mexico. Halliday acted as a director of the Brandon Allied Arts Centre in 1964. He held exhibitions in Brandon and Winnipeg. (1996 inventory)

Two pencil inscriptions ("Art"; "WH") in lower R area of image; another inscription ("S.P.") in the R corner.
Paul Panton began art lessons with Miss Helen Douglas in New Westminster, B.C. He continued study with Joe Plaskett at the Vancouver School of Art. During 1962-1964 he studied with Steve Repa at the Brandon Allied Arts Centre. (1983 inventory)
