Discoloration (reddish-brown stains) in many areas of the painting. Crazing (cracks in varnish) all over image. Blisters in paint (TR corner, BR corner, TL corner) resulting in flaking of paint in some areas. Major scratches resulting in abrasion of paint in upper part of image (also abrasion of paint from the frame). Frame: very damaged, plaster ornamentation broken off in many areas, esp. on R and L sides. Also many cracks in the plaster and loss of gild. Painting and frame need cleaning from dust (1996)
Photograph shows two separate views. One is of the main entrance of (Old) City Hall on Princess Avenue. The other view shows the ediface of the YMCA building as well as the adjacent St. Paul's United and First United Churches on 8th Street.

This photo was taken by C.J. Smith for Bryant Studio. Bryant Studio (I believe) was opened in 1907 by Smith for Bryant. Smith later bought the studio when Bryant planned to close it. The same studio was subsequently purchased by L.A. Stuckey on January 1, 1958. LAS.
