[Mr. Stuckey was incorrect in calling St. Mary's a "Roman" Catholic Church. In actuality, The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish is a Ukrainian Catholic Church. P.E. 12/06/09]
[St. Joseph’s Academy provided education to the children of Brandon’s Catholic community and was overseen by its own Catholic school board. St. Joseph's Academy was built 1883, closed 1895; Copy neg.; From St. Michael's Academy Collection
Opened 1903. Closed 1923. Building became the Oak Theatre ca. 1930. Reopened as Towne Cinema ca. 1980 after being closed for many years. The building has since been demolished.

Writing on the front of the postcard reads: Lunch Counter Cafe Aagaard, 29 Eigth St., Brandon, Man. The back of the postcard reads: Cafe Aagaard, Largest, Oldest and Best in Brandon. The postcard is addressed to Mrs. K.L. McGregor, 157-4th St.
According to Henderson's 1935 Brandon City Directory, the First United Church was located on the corner of 8th Street and Lorne Avenue. The minister at the time was Reverend John H. Garden.
