The Brandon University Photograph collection is an artifically created collection. It includes photographs from both Brandon College and Brandon University.
Custodial History
The custodial history is varied. Some photographs were created by officers of the College and the University, or were produced at the request of the institution. Many, as well, have been donated by former faculty members and students. We have tried to record the custodial history for photographs that have been donated by faculty members and students at the item level.

Fonds has been divided into eleven series, including: (1) Convocation, Scholarships and Awards; (2) Campus Buildings; (3) Library Activities and Archives; (4) Faculties and Schools; (5) Student Activities; (6) Administrative and Support Units; (7) Sports; (8) Portraits; (9) Oversize; (10) Special Events; and (11) Documents, Diplomas and Certificates.

This collection contains photographs of Brandon and Area that do not belong to particular collections or fonds held at the S.J. McKee Archives. It is, in short, an artificially created collection.
The collection has been divided into the following series: (1) Rural Images; (2) Urban Images; (3) Transportation; (4) Education; (5) Portraits; (6) Associations; (7) and Athletics.
Notes
In addition to this collection, photographs relating to Brandon and area may be found in the Lawrence Stuckey collection, the Alf Fowler collection, the A.E. McKenzie Company fonds, Hughes and Company collection, and the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Association fonds.

MacDonald tied for the Gold Medal in General Proficiency and won the silver medals in Mathematics and Zoology. She also studied music while attending Brandon College.

Graduation portrait of Margaret Ann MacDonald, class of 1959.
Photograph was taken on the front lawn and shows nine female students who were either members of the Class of 1930 or the Class of 1931. L to R: Isabel (Hitchings) Garland, Louis (Garnet) Young, Mary (Maltman) Haramia, Ruth (Bigham) Alexander, Thelma (Stoodley) Pallister, Jean (Hutchings) Chase, Van (Hitchings?) Cummings, Kay (Underwood) Pickard, and Marie (Evans) McDonnell.
Item consists of portraits of the women of Brandon College Class of 1946.

The Brandon Armoury was built in 1907. The extension on the southside was built in 1937.
Custodial History
The photograph was donated to the Archives by Cy Kenny in 2005.
Scope and Content
Photograph is looking northwest from the east side of 11th Street. It shows the back and east side of the Brandon Armoury, which is located on the at 1116 Victoria Avenue.
