The Avro Anson is a British twin-engine, multi-role aircraft that served with the Royal Air Force, Fleet Air Arm and numerous other air forces prior to, during, and after the Second World War. Photograph shows the Kresge store on the southwest corner of 10th Street and Rosser Avenue. Other 10th Street businesses that are visible on the west side of the street include: James Richardson & Son Investments, Beneficial Finance and Loans, Bass' Storkland, Brandon News & Record Shop, Recreation Bowling and Billiards, and Bottomley's. The Welcome Brandon sign can be seen in the top right corner of the photograph.
The building that housed Ashdown's Hardware was built in 1902 and was located at the corner of Princess Avenue and 7th Street on the north side of Princess Avenue. Strome and White Company General Store were the first occupants of the building. The building was destroyed by fire on March 27, 1983.
