Photo shows the old Grand Stand on the Exhibition Grounds (now the Keystone Grounds) during what appears to be a cattle auction or show. Unlike the other photos of the Grand Stand in the collection, this photo was taken from the track looking into the Grand Stand rather than looking onto the track from the Grand Stand.

Photograph shows the interior of a bar with a group of 18 patrons and staff standing to the right of the counter. Two framed photographs of dogs playing poker hang above the bar. Date ascertained from certificate hanging above the cash register.

William Henderson is listed as the bartender for the Grand Union Hotel in the 1909 Henderson's Brandon City Directory.
Photograph shows the possible interior of the Grandview Hotel. A young man is working behind the counter that holds a cash register and tobacco display case. A calendar for March 1913 advertises O.L. Harwood's Insurance, Real Estate, and Loans. Below the hotel's 35-room call box is an advertisement for the Public Stenographers Company. A postcard stand holds cards of Brandon's courthouse and other prominent buildings.

Photograph shows the front of the Metropolitan Store Ltd. at night, in particular four large display windows displaying men's and women's apparel and baked goods. Signs in the windows read: Grand opening sale Friday and Saturday.

Built in 1914 and located on the south side of Louise Avenue, west of 23rd Street. An extension to the south was added at a later date.
[Mr. Stuckey] attended this school from the fall of 1927 to the summer of 1933, grades 1-6, with one room for each grade. Teachers [that Mr. Stuckey] remembered: Grade 1 - Mrs. Mary Wilson (widow); Grade 2 - Miss Mary Harrison, Miss Harrap; Grade 3 - Miss Pottinger; Grade 4 - Miss Doak; Grade 6 - Mr. Allan Mitchell (married Miss Harrap). Principal 1927-28: Mr. Wood, Principal 1934: Mr. Allan Mitchell.

Photograph shows counters 5-6, 8-13 and 15-17 on the Metropolitan Store Ltd. sale floor. Various opening specials are advertised, including: bloomers, hose, shirts, toilet shop, powder, spectacles, alarm clocks and bulbs.

The fountain for people was in the small basin at the rear. From there, wasted water went through a pipe to the large basin in front to be used for dogs and, no doubt, horses on occasion. This was one of two drinking fountains on the fair grounds - the other being by the children's paddling pool just inside the main gate on 13th St. In addition to the two fountains on the fair grounds, there was also one on Eighth St. across from the Baubier Hotel in the early days (Brandon: A City, Barker, p. 52).
