Notes
Writing on the back of the photograph reads: Methodist Mission Sunday School Picnic taken in the Assiboine [sic.] Park. 1st 1915. 1915. Mr. Hugh Connolly Minister, Mr. Fred Denstedt, Teacher. Miss Hornbrook, Bible Class teacher. Mr. John Davies, Choir Leader. Mrs. Foreman in the center in dark dress the oldest member & four babies. Mrs. E. Harden, 33-10th Street N., City.
The Brandon Collegiate was built in 1907 and officially opened in 1908. Architect W.A. Elliott designed the building, which was faced with brick from Wisconsin (order 65,000 bricks). Located at 527 Louise Avenue, it ceased to be Brandon Collegiate Institute (BCI) in the summer of 1974. It was renamed New Era School on the recommendation of Marion Pye, who was a teacher at BCI in its last years. The name "New Era" was also the name of the BCI yearbook.

Scope and Content
Photo shows the old Grand Stand on the Exhibition Grounds (now the Keystone Grounds) during what appears to be a cattle auction or show. Unlike the other photos of the Grand Stand in the collection, this photo was taken from the track looking into the Grand Stand rather than looking onto the track from the Grand Stand.

William Henderson is listed as the bartender for the Grand Union Hotel in the 1909 Henderson's Brandon City Directory.
Photograph shows the possible interior of the Grandview Hotel. A young man is working behind the counter that holds a cash register and tobacco display case. A calendar for March 1913 advertises O.L. Harwood's Insurance, Real Estate, and Loans. Below the hotel's 35-room call box is an advertisement for the Public Stenographers Company. A postcard stand holds cards of Brandon's courthouse and other prominent buildings.

The Metropolitan store was located on the south side of Rosser Avenue at 8th Street.

Photograph shows the front of the Metropolitan Store Ltd. at night, in particular four large display windows displaying men's and women's apparel and baked goods. Signs in the windows read: Grand opening sale Friday and Saturday.
