Manitoba Flying Farmers Convention appears to have been a convention for farmers who planted and sprayed their crops using aerial techniques. The Manitoba Flying Farmers were organized in 1956 in Brandon, Manitoba. Organizational meetings were held in a hanger at the Brandon Flying Club. The first Regional 5 Flying Farmers Convention in Manitoba was held 1961. Nearly 200 people attended the first convention from various provinces and states including: Alberta, Saskatchewan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnisota, Wisconsin, Montana and Colorado. Alberta and Saskatchewan had their own district leaving Manitoba in a district with North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnisota and Wisconsin. The image appears to have been taken at the Prince Edward Hotel.

Visible businesses and landmarks include: Beaubier Hotel, YMCA/police station, the original CKX Radio station towers on 8th Street (est. 1928 - moved 1940), the old City Hall, Prince Edward Hotel, and the original Manitoba Power commission smokestack on 10th Street.

Photograph shows the north side of the 900-block of Rosser Avenue, facing west from 9th Street. All the shops appear to be woodframed buildings; the sidewalk has yet to be installed and wooden planks have been laid down in front of the shops. Visible storefronts include: (left to right): Leask & Rose, general merchants (at the 11th Street intersect); Fortier & Bucke - Manufacturers' Agents and CPR Express Co.; The New Era - real estate office; Imperial Bank of Canada; Durand & Macdonald Law Office, T.D.
