The Brandon Creative Writing Club was formed in October 1968 to encourage literary interests and to give both an outlet for expression and a means of bringing together people of all ages and walks of life who had an interest in writing. The collection was published by Skunk Tail Press.
Item, which belonged to Colin Mailer, was part of a group of materials compiled by Gerald Brown from the personal collections of Colin Mailer, Lorne Watson, Norman Kalinski and Gerald Brown. Brown delivered the records to the Archives on November 17, 2009.

Built in 1908 (Barker p. 119); All but the northeast corner of the building was destroyed by fire on October 29, 1920, with the loss of many R.C.M.P. horses.

Item was accessioned in 2007 by the McKee Archives. Prior custodial history is unknown.
Scope and Content
Consists of a Brandon University Winter Carnival button. The button measures 2.5" across, with a white background. In the centre of the button is the Winter Carnival mascot. The mascot is circled by "Brandon University Winter Carnival" in blue lettering. The button has a gold and purple (originally blue?) ribbon attached to it.
Item is a mini-chapbook entitled "Winter Sunlight, Summer Rain" by Roger Finch. It is series 1, number 2 of the Dollarpoems series. The series was published by Pierian Press at Brandon University.
As a boy my father pointed out this pile of bricks, and pit beside it, and told me a small brick plant had been established here in the early days. The product was of poor quality and the business never became established. LAS.
