Vernon taught Philosophy at Brandon College from 1937-1947. He is the author of "Hitler, the man -- notes for a case study" written under the supervision of Dr. Henry A. Murray. The paper was first published in The Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology, vol. 37, no. 3, July, 1942, pp. 295-308. It was later used by Murray in his Analysis of the Personality of Adolph Hitler: With Predictions of His Future Behavior and Suggestions for Dealing with Him Now and After Germany's Surrender.
