Wheat City Business College was established in 1904, when J.W. Beveridge and F.E. Werry resigned from the Commercial Department of Brandon College to establish the Wheat City Business College. It was located originally in the Commercial Building on 10th Street, owned by Hughes and Co. Wheat City Business College continued to operate until the later 1960s.

[St. Joseph’s Academy provided education to the children of Brandon’s Catholic community and was overseen by its own Catholic school board. 1941-1945 used by military as part of army A-4 training center - the normal teacher training courses were then held in Daymin Court (12th St & Rosser), Bell Block, and the old Central School

From the late 1960s until the late 1980s the original Science Building was used to house Brandon University's Drama Department. Since the late 1980s this building has been home to the Brandon University Students' Union, and in now known as the Knowles Douglas Students’ Union Centre (T.M. 09/06/09).
