Item is a postcard. Image is looking northwest onto Rosser Avenue at approximatley 9th Street. Visible are the Bank of Nova Scotia (corner of 10th and Rosser), the Clement Block (formerly corner of 9th and Rosser), Tip Top Tailors, the Met Cafe, and Brown's Drug Store.

Postcard shows an aerial view of 9th Street facing south in Brandon, Manitoba. Visible businesses and landmarks include: Beaubier Hotel, YMCA/police station, the original CKX Radio station towers on 8th Street (est. 1928 - moved 1940), the old City Hall, Prince Edward Hotel, and the original Manitoba Power commission smokestack on 10th Street.

Writing on the front of the photograph reads: Brandon, Man., Jerrett Photo. This photograph shows a rare view of the 800-block between Rosser and Princess Avenues.
The 1911 station, shown in this photograph, was annexed to the old station by a breezeway. Addition architectural information is available in the Assiboine Historical Society's Brandon: An Architectural Walking Tour pamphlet (1982).

Scope and Content
Photo shows the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks looking east from the Overhead bridge. Businesses in the photograph include: Chatham Fanning Mills; Ogilvie; Hanbury Manufacturing Co.; and Western Canada Flour Mills Co. Ltd. The rail car in the bottom left of the photo reads "The World's Greatest Independent Show, The Great Sells-Floto, Circuses Consolidated."

This negative provides an excellent view of Rosser Avenue (looking east from 10th Street) in the early 20th century, and shows one of the first runs for Brandon's streetcar system.

Photograph shows street view of north side of Rosser Avenue, primarily the 700 block. Horse and buggies are travelling on the avenue and pedestrians fill the sidewalks. Union Jacks and English flags are mounted from the windows on the Fleming and Beaubier blocks. Flag banners are drapped across Rosser Avenue. Businesses visible in the Fleming Block include: Lowes Brothers Clothing and Spring Park Nurseries. Businesses visible in the Beaubier Block include the Empire Hotel. Businesses east of the Empire Hotel are grocer A.M. Percival and the Brandon Hardware Company. An advertisement for the Northern Bank is affixed to a telephone pole on the southside of the street.

A number of Aboriginal peoples are travelling on horseback west along Rosser Avenue as spectators look on.

Automobiles are parked on both sides of the avenue and at the time the photograph was taken, Rosser Avenue was a two-way street.
