Eleanor Fison Warren (nee Brayshay) was born on April 30, 1902 in Laughrne, Wales. Although her father had come to Canada in 1891, and her parents were married in the RM of Shoal Lake, her mother returned to Wales for Eleanor's birth. Eleanor attended high school in Birtle, MB. In 1929, Eleanor married Major Oliver Quin "OQ" Warren (1884-1949) and together they had four daughters: Phoebe, Diana, Cynthia and Penelope. Following her marriage, Eleanor was a farm housewife. After her husband died she stayed on the farm but hired help, while also working as a post office clerk and then a part-time municipal clerk. She retired in 1968. For many years Eleanor played the organ for St. Alban's Anglican Church and supported the Blenheim Remebrance Club, whose members sewed comfortors for soldiers overseas. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Birtle branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, served the local school board and drove many seniors to events in surrounding communities. Eleanor was awarded the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers and the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award (posthumous). Eleanor Warren died on April 30, 2003 in Winnipeg, MB. She is buried at Birtle Cemetery.

Eleanor Kidd Park (est. 1977) is situated on 18th Street North, on the south side of the Assiniboine River, and east of the Thompson twinned bridge. The park was the former site of an animal shelter overseen by Eleanor Kidd. Adjacent to the park are the Eleanor Kidd Gardens, which contains performance and fountain plazas. The sites have been subjected to heavy flooding from 2011 to 2015.
Eleanor Maud Kidd (nee Death) (b.05 Aug 1881, d. 11 July 1978) was born in London, England. She trained as a nurse/midwife at the Liverpool Children's Hospital and worked as a private nurse for affluent families in Italy. She immigrated to Canada in 1913 and lived in Portage la Prairie where she worked as a public health nurse. She ultimately settled in Brandon where she married barber William Wesley Kidd (1873-1951) on November 24, 1921. Mrs. Kidd is credited with incorporating the Brandon SPCA/Humane Society in 1947. John Dick Vickers was born on September 12, 1903 at Straiton, Edinburgh, Scotland. He came to Canada in June 1910 with his family and they settled near Greenway, MB. John received his schooling in Scotland and at Zepher and Wolsely Schools near Greenway. He participated in the Agricultural Society fairs, was secretary-treasurer of the Greenway Community Hall and played violin at Greenway dances. John married Frances Margaret Girling on June 12, 1928 and together they had two children: Dorothy and Allan. The Vickers' farmed in the Greenway area until selling up in 1935 and moving to Brandon. John began employment with Central Refineries (Anglo Canadian Oils) in 1936, when the refinery in Brandon opened, and he remained there until his retirement in 1966. John's hobbies included fishing and gardening, and he and his wife enjoyed their retirement summers at the family cottage at Sandy Lake. John Vickers died on August 30, 2022 in Brandon, MB. He is buried at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.

Jacob Peter Krueger was born on March 14, 1927 near Oakville, MB. Jacob married Katherine Elizabeth "Kaye" Martens (1923-2022) on August 4, 1951, and together they had three sons: Donald, Robert and Edward. The couple farmed at Carnegie. Jacob was involved in church leadership most of his life, was a member of the local Manitoba Pool Elevator Board, helped start the local chapter of the Canadian Food Grains Bank, volunteered on the Youth For Christ crisis phone line and reupholstered hundreds of chairs for the New To You Store for charity. Jacob Krueger died on December 30, 2019 in Brandon, MB. He is buried at Zion United Church Cemetery.

Jacob Loewen was born on June 6, 1928 at Fannystelle, MB. Jake grew up in the Moore Park and Justice area of the province, attending schools in both communities. He graduated Grade 12 at Gretna and then attended teachers college in Winnipeg. Taking evening courses, he obtained his teachers certificate and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandon University in 1974.
Jake began his teaching career in 1950 at Friedensrue, MB, then moved to Wingham (1951-1954), Brooke School, and Rivers Camp (1954-1971) before becoming principal in Broodkale in 1971. He left that postition in 1983 when he retired from teaching. Jake spent many summers crop inspecting and insurance adjusting, and farmed near Justice until 2006. He was a member of the Justice Mennonite Brethren Church and enjoyed singing, music, reading, crosswords and travelling North America.
Jake married Margaret Schmidt on August 21, 1954. Together they had four children: Robert, Donald, Karen and Sandra. Jacob Loewen died on October 8, 2012 in Regina, SK. He is buried Sparling Cemetery.

James David McKeand was born on April 11, 1925 on section 22-11-17 in the Douglas district of Manitoba. His early education was at Elton School. His grandfather was Robert McKeand (1848-1910) and his grandmother was Marion Johnstone (1860-1920). His father was David McKeand (1893-1979) and his mother was Mary Ethel Muirhead (1891-1963). David McKeand was inducted into the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1982.
Jim married Eva Meryl Gillespie (b. 1927) on May 7, 1947 and together they had two dauthers: Elaine and Janet. The couple lived five miles north of Douglas and Jim attended an agricultural course at the Ag Centre in Brandon, graduating with a certificate. A pedigreed seed grower, Jim achieved his 25 year Long Service Certificate from the Canadian Seed Growers' Association. He also grew seed plots for foundation production. Outside of his farm, Jim served on the local school board, was a Manitoba Pool Elevators delegate, served as a director of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame and the Brandon Consumers Co-operative. He was also active in politics and his church. James McKeand died on January 31, 1987 in Winnipeg, MB. He is buried at Madford Cemetery.

James Miller Young was born on February 4, 1901 at Eden, MB. Jim married Verna Mary Osborne (1907-1997) on October 27, 1930. Together they had three children: Gerald, Patricia and Marjorie. Jim served as a school trustee for the Eden Consolidated School District and Beautiful Plains School Division for more than 30 years, including 15 years at Board Chairman. Jim retired in 1967, and the couple's retirement years were spent in Neepawa, where they were very active in their community. Jim's service was commemorated by JM Young School in 1970. James Young died in May 1986. He is buried at Neepawa Cemetery.

Jessie Ramsay Whyte (nee Inverarity) was born on September 27, 1912 at her parents home in Wellwood, MB. She received her education at Wellwood Consolidated School. Jessie married Thomas Whyte (1903-1993) in Brandon in 1933, and together they raised eight children: Yvonne, Joan, Jim, George, Lois, Jeanette, Heather, and Ferg. The family lived on the family farm "Whytewood" northeast of Wellwood.
Jessie was known for her hospitality and her extensive correspondence with family. For many years she wrote columns in the Carberry News Express. An avid baseball fan, she played with the Wellwood Pats. Jessie was active in her community, holding leadership positions in the 4-H Club, was superintendent of the United Church Sunday School and was a member of both the United Church Women and the Presbyterian Womens Guild. In retirement she volunteered both in Carberry and Wellwood. Jessie Whyte died on October 8, 2000 in Winnipeg, MB.

James Cowan was born on May 26,1884 in Archie Municipality. He attended school at Le Claire and Cherry Grove and later farmed southeast of Mcauley, MB. Jim married Caroline (Lena) Willamina Johnson (1887-1965) in 1914, and together they had five children: Marjorie, Helen, Archibald, Elmer and Clarence. James Cowan died in December 1982. He is buried at Elkhorn Cemetery.

Ada Joanne Titus (nee Graham) was born on January 24, 1940 in Wellwood, MB. Joanne married John (Jack) Sidney Titus (1918-1995) on October 7, 1961 in Wellwood. They had two children together - Michelle and Vonn - and also raised Jack's three children from his first marriage, Gerry, Karen and Kim. Jack served the Wellwood community as grocer and postmaster for 30 years, retiring in 1982. His father was postmaster before him. Joanne was a teacher, who began her career at Dempsey school, continued to Wellwood and Brookdale, and then spent 23 years at RJ Waugh School in Carberry. She retired in 1999. Joanne enjoyed travel, music and dance, and was a member of the Spud City Cloggers. She was an acitive community member within the Presbyterian Church, Guild and Choir, Wellwood Community Club, Trans Canada Trail, and the Carberry Public Library. Joanne Titus died on September 28, 2016 in Medicine Hat, AB.
