Michael Skrumeda was born on July 21, 1950 in Stuartburn Municipality. He lived in Arbakka, MB until 1967. In Vita he met Olga Ann Margaret Lobur (1948-2004), and the couple were married on September 30, 1972. They had two daughters: Laura and Tanya. Michael held posts at parishes in Oakburn-Brandon District, Hamilton, Windsor, and Winnipeg within the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada. The Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Skrumeda is currently retired and living in Winnipeg, MB.
Custodial History
As part of the Westman Oral History Collection, this collection was accessioned by the McKee Archives in 1998. The original tapes from the Westman Oral History project were deposited in the Brandon Public Library. Copies of these originals were made by Margaret Pollex of the Brandon University Language Lab at the request of Eileen McFadden, University Archivist in the early 1990s. These copies compose the collection held in the McKee Archives.
