Among the guests were (L to R): Alice and Len Evans (MLA for Brandon East and Cabinet Minister), Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Phillip, Stanley Knowles and the Hon. James Richardson (MP for Winnipeg South and Cabinet Minister). In the back row, above the child in the crowd is Elias Haddad. Dignitaries were part of the cornerstone laying ceremony of the John R. Brodie Science Centre.
This house was built in 1907. It was constructed for the Bank of Montreal as the residence of the local bank manager, W.G.A. Watson, and was used for that purpose until the 1960s.

Photograph shows the recently constructed Strathcona Block. H. Lamontagne & Co. Ltd., Wholesale, occupies the ground floor. Scaffolding is suspended from the north side of the building. Buildings have yet to be erected to the north and south sides of the Strathcona Block.

Photograph shows a man - George Porterfield - dressed in a three-piece and hat sitting at the reins of a horse drawn buggy. The buggy appears to be parked on Lorne Avenue beside the bandstand at Stanely Park.

Note attached to the back of the photograph reads: This George Porterfield, who lived on a farm 4.9.19. Delivered eggs, cream & milk in Brandon by this method in the early 1920. Maybe he was out courting Mary, he looks pretty dressed up.

Scope and Content
Photograph shows Rosser Avenue in its incipient stages. Canvas tents are mixed amongst wooden structures. The James Smart Hardware store, Winter & O'Neail Groceries & Provisions, and the law office of F.G.A. Henderson in the Molesworth Block can be seen on the north side of Rosser Avenue. A street sign designating 6th Street can be seen below the Winter & O'Neail sign. A horse and buggie is traveling down the dirt track that is Rosser Avenue. Groups of men can be seen congregating outside some of the local businesses.
