Photograph was taken from the riverbank and shows the steel bridge in Souris, MB. A second wooden bridge is visible behind the steel bridge. The residence of Dr. W.A. Sherrin can be seen to the right of the bridges.

Dr. Sherrin's residence was identified using the Illustrated Souvenir of Souris, Manitoba (p. 38).

Photograph shows Mrs. Scott's residence in Kemnay, Manitoba. Members of the family along with two horse-drawn buggies are clearly visible along the front of the house. A possbile church appears to the right of the house in the background.

The decorative ceiling and border are consistent with another photograph in the McGuinness collection (see 20-2009.78) in which Gordon Irwin is identified. According to Henderson's 1909 Brandon City Directory, Gordon Irwin - a barber - and tobacconist J.S. Rosby shared at storefront at 919 Rosser Avenue. This address is situated on the north side of Rosser Avenue, adjacent to a laneway. It is possible that the back of the shop overlooks the Grand Union Hotel on the corner of Pacific Avenue and 10th Street.

Businesses visible in the background include the Sylvester Brothers Manufacturing Company and McDiarmid and Clarke lumber and fuel yard. Spectators in the foreground are leaning on a wooden fence likely belonging to the Old City Hall.
