- The S.S. Marquette was a steamship used on the Assiniboine River west of Winnipeg to Fort Ellice; It was the first to cross the rapids east of Brandon
- This was one of about 12 [steamships] used on the Assiniboine River in the late 1870s (Roy Brown).
