Richard Halliday was born in Vancouver, B.C. in 1939. He studied in Vancouver School of Art with Ray Kiyooka and Jack Shadbolt. Further studies in Mexico. Halliday acted as a director of the Brandon Allied Arts Centre in 1964. He held exhibitions in Brandon and Winnipeg. (1996 inventory)

Henrietta Hancock taught visual arts at BU from approx.1906-1912 on the 4th floor of Clark Hall/Original Building. Her husband was on faculty and when money got tight the wives resigned. Arts moved into the community and was carried on as the Brandon Arts Club; probably initiated by Henrietta. (1996 inventory)

Inscription: Charles Whitfield Clark, M.D. b. 1845 in New Brunswick; d.1939 in Toronto. Educated in Ontario, and in American Universities. Practiced Homeopathy in Aylmer, Ontario, 1866-82; in Winnipeg, 1883-1912, then in Toronto. An active Baptist layman and advocate of higher education for women, hence Clark Hall. C.S. Hatch (1863-1922) was born in Woodstock, Ontario. He lived there until 1902, at which time he moved to Winnipeg. In 1909 he moved to Vancouver until 1920 where he and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Hatch's paintings (mainly portraits) have been sold throughout Canada. (BU Art Catalogue, 1983)
