Built in 1914 and located on the south side of Louise Avenue, west of 23rd Street. An extension to the south was added at a later date. [Mr. Stuckey] attended this school from the fall of 1927 to the summer of 1933, grades 1-6, with one room for each grade. Teachers [that Mr. Stuckey] remembered: Grade 1 - Mrs. Mary Wilson (widow); Grade 2 - Miss Mary Harrison, Miss Harrap; Grade 3 - Miss Pottinger; Grade 4 - Miss Doak; Grade 6 - Mr. Allan Mitchell (married Miss Harrap). Principal 1927-28: Mr. Wood, Principal 1934: Mr. Allan Mitchell.

The fountain for people was in the small basin at the rear. From there, wasted water went through a pipe to the large basin in front to be used for dogs and, no doubt, horses on occasion. This was one of two drinking fountains on the fair grounds - the other being by the children's paddling pool just inside the main gate on 13th St. In addition to the two fountains on the fair grounds, there was also one on Eighth St. across from the Baubier Hotel in the early days (Brandon: A City, Barker, p. 52). Scope and Content
Postcard shows the West End Park (also known as Stanley Park) and Park School. The school was situated on the southwest corner of Lorne Avenue. A couple of residences surround the school. Walking paths, a park bench, and a gazebo/grandstand can be seen in the park.

Front of postcard reads: Published for Christie's Book Store, Brandon, Man., 6350. Back of postcard reads: Canadian Souvenir Post Card, Warwick Brothers & Rutter, Limited, Printers, Toronto. The postcard is addressed to Miss Isabella Heastwell of Broderick, Saskatchewan, and is dated July 14, 1910.

Postcard depicts an outdoor class photograph of the 1906-1907 Central School Grade 5? class. The class is posing outside of the school. The girls are wearing dresses and boots. Most of the boys are wearing suits and ties.
