Photograph was taken by Christy Henry on August 10, 2002 following the grand opening of the Labyrinth of Peace. The Labyrinth is situated in the Assiniboine River Corridor near the Discovery Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. The symbols for the Labyrinth of Peace were designed by Heather Dixon and created by Past Reflections Stained Glass. Following their destruction due to vandalism, the original stained glass symbols were replaced by stone carvings utilizing the same designs in the fall of 2007.

The Brandon Club, designed in 1904 by local architect and builder W.R. Marshall, was Brandon's oldest chartered club. It was located at 158 11th Street. In the early years as an exclusive institution, the club boased such notable members as Sir Clifford Sifton, Senator J.N. Kirchoffer, and Sir R.P. Roblin. The Brandon Club closed its doors c. 2005. At present (June 2007), it is the future home of Lennon Trilogy, professional land surveyors.

The 1896 Winnipeg Bonspiel, and Lieutenant-Govenor’s Trophy, was won by the Inglis rink of the Brandon Curling Club. The winning members were (left to right) G.H. Smith (first), Wm. Henderson (third), Jno. Inglis (skip) and W.L. Parrish (second ).

The photograph belonged to Tom Black who appears in the photograph (he is listed as J. Black). His son Errol acquired it at the time of his father's death and donated it to the McKee Archives in 2007.
Scope and Content
Photograph consists of portraits of the players and executive of the Southend Football Club. The Southend Football Club were winners of the Charity Cup in 1927, 1928 and 1930.
The Old Brandon Gun Club was located on 6th Street south of the Canadian National tracks. In a note to Fred McGuinness, Bill Love shares a story about how children trapped pigeons for the glun from stables and church belfries. The birds were later used for pigeon pie.

Photograph shows large group of men posing with their shotguns in front of a hunting blind or shed. The moustached man kneeling at the end of the second row, right-hand side, wearing a bowler hat has been identified as the grandfather of Bill Love (possibly William D. Love).
Photograph shows a junior boys hockey team in a hockey rink. The boys are wearing Maple Leafs jersies. Hanging on the boards behind the team is a pennant that reads: The Rotary Club, Medicine Hat, Alta. Gallagher McGuinness is the goalie.
