The Senate Planning Committee conists of: the President or designate, who is Chair; the Vice-President (Academic & Research); the Dean of each Faculty/School; one representative elected by and from each Faculty/School; the University Librarian; and two students appointed by the BUSU Council.
The responsibilities of this Committee are to make recommendations to Senate relating to: academic program priorities; support programs for the academic functions; and the establishement of additional departments faculties, schools and institutes.
In 1985 the Senate Planning Committee was replaced by the Senate Planning and Priorities Committee. The composition and terms of reference for this committee are included in the Senate by-laws from 1985. In 2000 the Senate Planning and priorities committee was disbanded. Its functions were assumed by the Senate Executive Committee until the senate Planning Committee was re-established in 2003.

The Scholarships, Bursaries, Medals and Awards Committee of Senate consists of one member and one alternate elected by and from each Faculty/School, one member and one alternate elected by and from the Seante, and the BGS Coordinator or designate. Only in the absence of the elected members shall the alternates have full powers to participate as the regular member. The University Registrar is the Secretary.

The conferring of an Honorary Degree bestows honour upon a deserving candidate who has made an outstanding contribution in one or more of the following categories: the University; Society; Professional Life; Public Service; and the Advancement of Knowledge. Nominations can be made by either members of the University community or individuals outside the University. Nominations are considered by Senate. Only those approved by Senate are awarded.

The Canada Seed Company was formed in 1913 by Mr. R. C. (Clark) Steele at Hagersville, Ontario with the intent to process and export farm seeds. However, in later years, the company branched out into the Garden Seed business. Early in the 1930's, R. C. Steele merged his company with the Steele Briggs Seed Co., which was owned by his brother Walter D. Steele. Following the deaths of W. D. Steele and E. F. Crossland, R. C. Steele was elected President of Steele Briggs.
A few years later, Vancouver interests took over the seed companies under Steele Briggs, including the Canada Seed Company. At this time, R. C. Steele retired from the company to form Steele Robertson Co., headquartered in Edmonton. W. D. Dack was appointed President of Steele Briggs. In June 1951, W. D. Dack took control of company operations from the Vancouver interests and, in 1961, the Steele Briggs Seed Co. purchased the Rennie Seed Co.

This sub-series contains the resignation of A.J. Maruca as an officer and director of
Canada Seeds Ltd. and a report on operating results for the nine-month period ending
February 28,1967. The remainder of the records in this sub-series are financial
statements prepared by Meyers Norris Penny & Co.
The sub sub series is divided into two sub sub sub series, including: (1) Financial; and (2) Miscellaneous.
Historical information regarding Canada Seeds Ltd. is located in Series 2 (Office of the President/GM), sub-series 2 (J. Lasby Lowes), Historical Topics file 10 (Tape 23) and file 11 (Tape 24) of the A.E. McKenzie Seed Co. Ltd. fonds.
In the early 1960's, A.E. McKenzie set out to right a book chronicling the first 38 years of Brandon College's history. To achieve this goal, he contacted a number of former faculty member and students of Brandon College, and asked them to contribute their recollections of the College. The testimonials were published along with a message from Brandon University's President at the time, Dr. John E. Robbins. Brandon College Inc. also contained comments from McKenzie regarding the Re-establishment of the College.

Scope and Content
This sub sub series contains correspondence discussing textual and photographic content of the book, clarification of facts, and the format and printing of the book. There is also one newspaper clipping and some proofs. A large part of the sub-series is comprised of the contributions and mailing list for the project. Two copies of the completed book are also been included.
The remainder of the documents in the sub-series deal with reactions to the project. Testimonials from well-known individuals such as Mrs. Olive Diefenbaker, a former student at the College, the Minister of Education, and the Premier of Manitoba are contained in the sub-series. As well, fonds includes numerous letters from other individuals, thanking and congratulating McKenzie on the project are included. There is also a file relating to the reaction – not unanimously favorable - of the Brandon College Board of Directors to the project.
The majority of the photographs used in the History of Brandon College Inc. are also included.

Scope and Content
Sub-series consists of correspondence, information, records, press releases, newspaper clippings, booklets, brochures, maps and grants as well as other records associated with government between 1983 and 1993. A large part of the records consists of correspondence, especially between Clark, his constituents, and other members of the government. This correspondence covers all aspects of Canadian society and government departments, including but not limited to: Agriculture; Communications; Environment; External Affairs; Finance; Indian and Northern Affairs; National Defense; Prime Minister; Justice; Transport; Veteran's Affairs; Youth; Status of Women; Housing; Immigration; Industry, Science & Technology; Health & Welfare; Forestry; Fitness, Youth & Amateur Sport; Employment; Federal Provincial Relations; Consumer & Corporate Affairs; Secretary of State; and various other departments, as well as topics dealing with the municipalities that Clark served. Of these, the departments of Agriculture and the Environment are the most widely represented in these records, due to Clark's positions as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture from 1987-1989 and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of the Environment from 1989-1993.
The records highlight the political climate of Canada, and especially Western Canada, from 1983 to 1993. Many of the records relate to the affairs of constituents in the Brandon-Souris riding and cover a wide variety of topics. The collection spans the entire political career of W. Leland Clark, from the letters congratulating him on his byelection victory in 1983 to his final days in office in 1993.

Sub sub series consists of playbills from a number of Brandon University Drama Society (BUDS) productions. Plays include: The Mousetrap, Undeer Milk Wood, The Life and Death of Almost Everybody, The Crucible, The Hollow, The Winslow Boy, The Linden Tree, The Rape of the Belt, How the Other Half Loves, The Importance of Being Ernest, Dead and Alive, The Love of Four Colonels, The "Waltz of the Toreadors", Getting Married, Heatbreak House, Antigone and a Comedy Playbill for Mutatis Mutandis, Dock Brief, and Getting and Spending. The sub sub series also includes a playbill for the Brandon University Musical Theatre's production of The Pirates of Penzance; a playbill for The Attic Theatre's production of St. Simeon Stylites and The Dark Lady of the Sonnets; and a programme for a musical theatre evening with students of Earl Davey, Sylvia Richardson and Cedric Vendyback and guests Madrigalia.
Several playbills from the Brandon College era have been located with these records to facilitate administrative control. Programmes include: Martha-By-The Day, Cappy Ricks, My Three Angels, and Be Your Age. Martha-By-The Day was presented by the Students' Association of Brandon College, Cappy Ricks by the Students of Brandon College and My Three Angels and Be Your Age by the Brandon College Literary Board.

Sub sub series consists of a copy of "The Brandon University Labyrinth of Peace Project" by Angela Conrad. The Labyrinth of Peace, which opened on August 10, 2002, is situated in the Assiniboine River Corridor near the Discovery Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. The project was conceived by Dr. Alison Marshall, Assistant Professor in the Department of Religion.

Cedric Vendyback was born August 28, 1923 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England and was educated at Harehills Council School till the age of fourteen - then becoming a labourer. At the outbreak of World War II, he educated himself for aircrew duties and in 1942 came to Canada where he was trained as a fighter pilot and was commissioned as an officer in the Royal Air Force until demonbilisation in 1946. He flew as a Reservist pilot from 1948 to 1968.
After Training College, Vendyback became a teacher in 1948 and in 1953 began empirical training with Alex Baron as an actor and director until becoming appointed as Associate of the Drama Board, later a Licentiate of The Royal Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. In 1963, he was elected a Member of the Guild of Drama Adjudicators.
In 1971, he was selected for and offered a position as a professor at Brandon University where he opened a new drama department in January 1972.
Vendyback retired in 1992 and currently (June 2012) lives in Kelowna, B.C., where he works as a free-lance director and lecturer.

Records were in the possession of Cedric Vendyback from their creation until he donated them to the McKee Archvies in 2011 and 2012.
Scope and Content
Collection consists of records related to the activities of the Brandon University Drama Society (BUDS) and the Brandon University Drama Department collected by Cedric Vendyback during his years as head of the department. The Society performed plays in the then Drama Building, the J.R.C. Evans Lecture Theatre and the Westman Centennial Auditorium.
Accession 16-2011 (1972-1978) consists of a photograph album of photographs, playbills and related newspaper clippings for Brandon University Drama Society productions staged between 1972 and 1978.
Accession 10-2012 (1972-1985) consists of: production reviews from various newspapers and playbills for BUDS productions; a historical fact sheet provided by the donor regarding the Drama Department's service to the community; student evaluation extracts; and the course description for Play Production.
